Chat, safety & the scams to ignore

Chat is how you meet everyone — and how scammers reach you. One rule protects you from almost all of it, and we spell it out here.

How chat works

You can message other real players directly. The game's rules forbid harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content and scams — so anyone doing those is reportable. Chat is great for making friends and arranging to meet up; it is also the main channel scammers use, so go in with your guard up.

The one rule that beats most scams

In-game naira cannot be converted to real money and cannot be cashed out. Full stop. So any message built on “turn your naira into real cash,” “I'll double your money,” or “buy your balance for real money” is a lie by definition. Hold that fact and the cons collapse.

The scams you will actually see

  • “Double your naira.” Send me X, get back 2X. You will never see it again. There is no doubling mechanic — only theft.
  • Fake login links. Someone pastes a link and says “log in here to claim a reward / verify your account.” It is a phishing page to steal your account. Never log in through a link in chat — only ever type lagoslife.app yourself.
  • Account buying / selling. “I'll buy your account” or “sell you a rich account.” Against the rules, and the usual outcome is you get robbed or banned.
  • Fake “$LAGOSLIFE” crypto. There are impostor crypto tokens pretending to be the game. The developer has not launched a coin — ignore anything claiming otherwise.
  • Fake transfer screenshots. “I already sent, check again” with a doctored screenshot, to pressure you into sending first. Only trust your own balance.

Never, under any circumstances

Never share your password, never log in through a link someone sent, and never send naira to “multiply” it. No legitimate player, partner or “admin” will ever ask for those. Also set a security answer only you would know (it is how you recover your account) and avoid flashing your username publicly.

If something feels off

Trust the feeling. Stop replying, do not send anything, and report the player. A real friend or a genuine deal survives you saying “no thanks, I'm good.” A scam does not.
